Nine out of ten first-time TBWX customers order the Naughty Nutella or the Maple Melt. Which is great — they're world-class. But the savory side of our Waffle Sandwich menu is the reason our outlets don't empty out between 1pm and 4pm like single-product dessert cafés do.
Here's what we actually serve on the savory Waffle Sandwich menu, and why it matters.
Wait — savory waffles?
Yes. Belgian Waffles have always worked with savory fillings. It's a neutral, slightly sweet base that pairs with spice, cheese, herbs and chutneys in the same way a good bread does. What we've done at TBWX is build India-appropriate savory sandwiches that hit home flavors — chaat notes, paneer, chilli, mint — wrapped inside our golden waffle bread.
The current savory Waffle Sandwich menu
Cheesy Corn Waffle Sandwich (Rs 189-219) — golden waffle with cheesy corn, jalapeño, herbs, a dollop of mayo. Reliably our #1 savory seller across every outlet. Feeds as a light lunch or a snack.
Paneer Tikka Waffle Sandwich (Rs 219-249) — marinated paneer tikka, mint-yogurt drizzle, onion, capsicum. Vegetarians who want something hearty order this.
Mushroom Melt Waffle Sandwich (Rs 209-239) — sautéed mushrooms, melted cheese, garlic butter, herbs. Earthy, comforting, pairs with our Peach Iced Tea.
Spicy Veg Schezwan Waffle Sandwich (Rs 179-209) — Schezwan-tossed veggies, cheese, sesame. For the Indian-Chinese crowd that wants lunch with a kick.
Peri Peri Paneer Waffle Sandwich (Rs 209-239) — Portuguese heat meets paneer. Comes with a side of peri peri fries if you combo it.
How does it work in the same kitchen as Bubble Waffles?
This is the part franchise operators ask most often. The short answer: one waffle iron handles both. The sweet and savory Waffle Sandwiches use the same Belgian waffle base. It's the filling station that differentiates.
We've designed the TBWX kitchen layout so one operator can move from a Nutella Sandwich to a Paneer Tikka Sandwich without breaking flow. The filling ingredients live in separate cold wells. The same grill, same waffle iron, same plating.
This matters because it means outlet sales don't die at lunch. A typical TBWX outlet sees:
Morning (11am-1pm): shakes, summer coolers, waffle cakes for pickup.
Lunch slot (1pm-4pm): savory Waffle Sandwiches, pasta, grilled sandwiches, Maggi.
Evening peak (4pm-8pm): sweet Waffle Sandwiches, Bubble Waffles, Mini Bubble Pancakes, shakes.
Late night (8pm-11pm): weekend gift cake pickups, delivery-focused dessert orders.
Seven categories keep the shutters up all day.
What pairs with what
If you're making a TBWX order for a group and don't know what to pick, here's a cheat sheet:
For 2 people, sharing: one Nutella Waffle Sandwich + one Cheesy Corn Waffle Sandwich + one Oreo Thick Shake. Sweet + savory + drink. Under Rs 600 total.
For an office team order of 6: two sweet sandwiches, two savory, one Peri Peri Fries, six coolers. Under Rs 2,500.
For a solo lunch under Rs 300: Paneer Tikka Waffle Sandwich + Masala Lemon Soda. Filling without being heavy.
Vegetarian and why it's intentional
The entire TBWX menu — savory included — is 100% vegetarian. That's not a limitation; it's a deliberate choice. India's F&B market has enough veg-first cafés poorly executed and enough non-veg cafés brilliantly executed. TBWX bets on being the multi-category vegetarian café that hits quality hard, because that's where the biggest underserved demographic sits.
For franchise partners, this is also a licensing simplification — no meat handling, no cross-contamination protocols, simpler FSSAI category compliance, easier to staff.
Try the savory side next time
If you're a regular at TBWX already, here's our ask: next visit, order one sweet + one savory Waffle Sandwich in the same order. Find out why our lunch slot isn't empty.
